Even without Police Officers, you could still get fined for running a business without proper license.
City Official want to remind local businesses that operating without a proper license is against the law. If you are selling items whether out of a shop, your home, or out in public, you must be able to provide a Business License at anytime.
Fines start at $20, $100 for the second offence. Unfortunately the high cost of the fines are due to the laws being unenforceable by Police. Citizens are encouraged to report illegal operation business in exchange for a reward from the States Revenue.
The Department of Treasury said to Seattle News "...the harsh fines will come down when we have City Employees out there checking Licenses and giving them free of charge when needed."
